The Audi Q5 is a mid-size SUV that is one of the most popular vehicles in the Audi lineup. It is positioned between the smaller brother, the Q8, and the bigger cousins, the Q7 and Q8. The 2025 Audi Q5 should undergo a redesign of the exterior and interior, and we expect some changes under the hood.
Previous generations of Q5 gained popularity as a sweet spot between comfort and performance. BMW offers better performance and driving capabilities with its X3, and Mercedes offers a more luxurious interior with their GLC.
The 2025 model should also bring some improvements in driving capabilities because that was the biggest drawback of this model. We should expect more sporty handling and better overall performance. We also should see a more aggressive approach to interior design because the Porsche Macan and Alfa Romeo Tonale offer a more attractive look.
2025 Audi Q5 redisign
As we already mentioned, the upcoming 2025 Audi Q5 will feature mid-cycle refreshments of the exterior and interior. Starting with the exterior, we expect a more modern and futuristic approach to the design. The grille should get a new, more futuristic look, followed by a new headlight design. Also, we expect to see a new daily LED light design. The side will offer a sportier line with new tire arches. And we hope we will see a new premium rim design with new premium color options.
The rear end of the SUV will get a new taillight with a new rear bumper design that will be paired with a new dual exhaust.
The interior also should receive an overhaul. The dashboard should get a new driver’s gauge and a bigger screen for info-entertainment on the center console. We expect to see some features that were reserved for premium trims now in base equipment.
But probably the biggest change in the interior will be a more modern design with plenty of quality materials used.
2025 Audi Q5 Specifications
The upcoming Q5 will have three engine options. All of them will be all-wheel drive, and they will come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The basic engine that will be found on a Q5 40 model will make 210 horsepower. The next in line, the Q45, will offer a more potent engine variation that will produce up to 270 horsepower.
And at the top of the line will be the hybrid powertrain that we will find in Q55 models. This plug-in hybrid will offer 370 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Also, thanks to the new transmission, this model will have improved 0-60, which will be 4.1 seconds. The hybrid engine will support up to 33 miles of just electric drive, and this model will come with a special air suspension that will offer never-seen comfort for longer rides.
The fuel economy numbers that we expect for Q5 40 models are 25 MPG combined, and for 45 models, they are 28 MPG. The hybrid version will offer 26 MPG in combined hybrid mode.
The towing capacity for the base model is expected to start at 3900 pounds, and for top-tier models, it will be limited to 4600 pounds.
2025 Audi Q5 Interior
The interior will offer new dual 12-inch screens. One will be a new digital dashboard with improved software and graphics. The other 12-inch touchscreen will offer entertainment information. The new Audi Q5 will come with a redesigned center console that will offer new physical dials for climate control, driving modes, and shifting modes. And on that center console, we expect to see type C charging ports and a wireless charging pad.
The redesign will include a new, more comfortable seat that will offer better lumbar support with heating and venting options. Also, as a part of the 2025 model year redesign, we expect to see a new steering wheel with multimedia buttons.
This model will support all premium safety features. Some of them will be included. Automatic Breaking with Forward-Collision Warning. Standard blind spot monitoring is a cross-traffic alert.
And like a previous generation, we expect to see some standard features like adaptive cruise control. Improved stability control, rain sensors, and automatic daily lights.
Price and Release Date
The standard price for a base trim will start at around $40.000 and go up to $72.000 for the top-tier trim with the most potent engine variation.
Our ideal choice for trim will be the Premium PLUS 55 PHEV, which will offer the most potent hybrid engine variation with a well-equipped interior. This model with base equipment will start at around $55,000.
The release date is expected to be in the summer of 2024. We expect that the improvements that Audi brings to the Q5 will attract customers and car enthusiasts, and that will help the new Q5 achieve good sales results.
